You might have come across essential oils but still not know much about them.

and to be completely honest I am still learning as I go.

They are the aromatic compounds that we get from plants and flowers, which are used for their medicinal properties. There is a wide variety of essential oils available today, with each having specific benefits to improve our health and wellbeing.

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years and are a popular natural remedy. The use of essential oils has many benefits, including improvements to the respiratory system, mental well-being, skin care and weight maintenance.

Essential oils are extracted from plants and flowers, they contain volatile aromatic compounds. These essential oils can be used for therapeutic or scented purposes. Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils in conjunction with massage therapy and an entire range of healing modalities to improve one’s health and well-being. There has been a recent boom in the popularity of aromatherapy as people are turning away from synthetic treatment methods such as prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications. Essential oil blends are often used in diffusers during meditation or yoga sessions to heighten consciousness, create an uplifting mood, promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and reduce pain.

Aromatherapy is a holistic therapy that uses aromatic essential oils from plants for healing and medicinal purposes.It can be used to treat depression, anxiety and stress as well as physical health issues like headaches and colds. As an alternative remedy has been used for centuries, the modern day science of aromatherapy was developed in France during the 1930s when a chemist called René-Maurice Gattefossé burned his hand with acid. He immersed it in lavender essential oil to soothe the pain caused by burns.

People are now waking up to the fact that the use of so many chemicals in our homes is having an impact on not only our health but also our mental health. 

Using essential oils to clean the home, keep the home fresh and toxic free is the way things are going. 

It is incredible how a fragrance or scent can lift your mood, help you to sleep better, can help you with focus and clarity and the list goes on...
